Kade's a Bear!

I feel like the only time I blog lately is after pack night. Well, at least I am blogging. ;)

Kade was finally awarded his Bear tonight. They did a special face painting activity--guess who got elected to paint... Yes, that's me in the pictures. (I know, it is rare, so enjoy it while you can.) Kade was also awarded one gold arrowpoint and 4 silvers. There is also a special patch all the boys got to commemorate 100 yrs of scouting. Looks like I've got a lot of sewing to do.

Blue and Gold Banquet

The Scouts were instructed to make a cake with an American theme for dessert. I am pleased to inform you that Kade made that cake all by himself. He followed a recipe, measured the ingredients, mixed it...all but place it in the oven (his over-protective mother insisted we forego disaster, and did that for him). The decorations are all his idea too. He even made the frosting from scratch. :) He's getting so big!
